Hard Sauce

Makes 4-6 Servings
This sauce is the traditional topping for Plum Pudding but it is delicious on any cake for that matter. Flavor it with Brandy, Rum or any citrus liqueur. Such a wonderful holiday treat.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (113g) butter
  • 1 cup (125g) confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla
  • 3 tablespoons (44ml) Brandy or Rum

Method

Cream butter with a hand mixer and add the confectioners sugar.  Add the vanilla and brandy and continue to whip for a moment or two.  Store in an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use.
